Let me share a little inspiration behind the names of my designs. Take Vivianita, for example—she’s a character from a Pedro Infante movie filmed during Mexico’s Época de Oro (Golden Age) of cinema. In Hollywood, Vivianita transforms and adopts a new name: Vivian. A little dramatic, yes, but who doesn’t love a Pedro Infante movie?
Many names in my shop hold stories like this. They’re inspired by music, culture, and the people I admire. Not all of them are Mexican, but they all have one thing in common: a deep heart for what they do. Here are just a few examples:
• Luna comes from my French Bulldog, Muna, and a Zoe + Hello Seahorse song.
• Pajaritos del Amor is a nod to Carla Morrison and Natalia Lafourcade’s duet.
• Café en el Campo reminds me of Café Tacvba and Juan Luis Guerra’s unforgettable “Quisiera Ser un Pez.”
• La Noche is inspired by Linda Ronstadt and José Alfredo Jiménez’s soulful “El Silencio de la Noche.”
• Other names, like Corazón Mexicano, Nature Lover, Mariana, Serena, or Luke, come from personal moments and memories that mean the world to me.
One name that stands out is Pachamama. It was introduced to me by a little boy in Sayulita—a magical place that inspired so many dreams. After meeting Nelly and having a heart-to-heart talk, I began dreaming and creating more intentionally, and that’s how my Internet boutique, Aida Coronado, was born.
Back to Sunny Sonora
Today, I’m back in Sonora, where it all started—the place that inspires everything I create. Every dress, blouse, and design in the boutique carries a story. From its name to the artisanal process behind it, each piece is made to inspire and to make you feel beautiful. For me, it’s all about reflecting love through what we create.
Celebrating Life and Love
As Spring blooms, we celebrate in so many ways—Semana Santa, Spring Break, family parties, or just the simple joys of life. March 21 is especially meaningful to me because it’s the anniversary of my first-ever investor: my Papá. I honored his memory this year in my own way. His support and belief in me continue to guide everything I do. ❤
